Friends & Enemies on CD

Randy's cinematic writing style grew out of his innate psychoses and was aggravated by his training as an actor in college. After graduating he worked construction by day in Cleveland, Ohio, while gathering a nighttime education in timeless music, playing with the most respected roots music players in the region. Upon moving to Los Angeles in the late 90's, Randy formed Randy Sacks & The Holy Rollers, primarily an alt-country and blues outfit at the time, and spent several years playing all over California and gathering material for his live CD, self-released in 2000, The Holy Rollers Do Hollywood. Randy's time on the road as a TV producer for VH1 Bands on the Run, rekindled his pop-rock fantasy and gave his sound an electric B-12 shot in the arm. After meeting young guitar icon David Green (currently of the ultra hot Latin alternative band "Los Abandoned"), and bass guru Mark Goldberg in 2001, the sound, an instinctive mix of pop-rock and Americana, fell into place. The 2002 release of APOSTASY was a quirky pop/rock record with a dark side and rootsy storytelling to the lyrics. Randy's songs have been featured in several independent films, including the title track of the short film "SEXY", which has won awards internationally in several film festivals. Randy's first solo CD, Friends and Enemies, is an all-acoustic recording with a surprising pop sensibility in spite of the folksy flavor of the featured steel guitars, dobros, mandolins and strings.
