Everything I Say on CD

Robert Charles has electrified audiences from the east coast to the Pacific Northwest with music that defies classification. His CD's demonstrate his ability to excel while crossing over multiple music genres. Robert says, "I decide what song I want to do, whether it be a cover or an original, and then I play in that style." This can be heard quite dramatically in his two CD's, 'Robert Charles' and his latest release, 'Everything I Say.' Whether it be a soaring instrumental ballad like Moon River, or a soulful blues interpretation of the jazz standard, All Of Me; whether a country hit like Patsy Clines' I Fall To Pieces, or Robert's own, Everything I Say- the only vocal tune on the album and a truly remarkable modern take on a delta blues- his playing demonstrates masterful technique and resonates with listeners on a deeply emotional level. Inspired at 15 years old by the guitar masters of the '60's and '70's, Robert immersed himself in the solos of Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton and most importantly Jimi Hendrix. After attending Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he majored in music and received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Robert studied jazz theory and was heavily influenced by guitarist Larry Carlton and the stable of guitar virtuosos employed by Steely Dan. With the discovery of guitarists' Stevie Ray Vaughn, Alan Holdsworth and Danny Gatton Robert found new inspiration and is recognized as a great guitar player in Seattle's music community. Robert has been acclaimed by all the leading guitar magazines, including 'Guitar Player,' 'Guitar,' 'Vintage Guitar' and other online magazines and is a member in the upper echelon of today's elite guitar players.
