Undulation on CD

'Undulation' is a compendium of songs introduced by 'Catacombs', a soft spoken opener that takes the listener on a musical journey of the mind. Songs like their hard-hitting singles 'Chained' (TR#2) and 'Swaying from the Powerlines' (TR#5) emphasize the band's technicality, while 'Learn' (TR#4) reveals the quartet's ability to modulate and groove with tribal funk and flavor. Formed in June of 2004, Root of the Sick originated in an old, dilapidated farmhouse near Trexlertown, a small farming community a few miles outside of Allentown, PA. A mystical presence lingered there... The spirit of the past shaping the music and lyrics that became the living shell of the songs. The group took in the ambiance of the house, it's close quarters, the musty smell of the aged curtains and the beer soaked rug, watched by the lifeless stares of the house's first inhabitants, framed in an antique picture overlooking the room. From their initial meeting, the band established a musical connection and immersed themselves in music, writing the songs that evolved into their first album 'Undulation'. It was within these walls that Root of the Sick was born.
