B4 The Heartbreak is a 2016 conceptual R&B and hip-hop project by Atlanta-based rapper and singer Sy Ari da Kid. Released on February 4, 2016, the project served as the foundational opening chapter to his ongoing "Heartbreak" series, which later included After the Heartbreak (2018) and A Toxic Heartbreak (2020). With this album, Sy Ari successfully bridges the gap between sharp Southern rap-singing and vulnerable R&B melodies without sounding forced. Tracks like "No Place Like Home" also highlight his genre-bending versatility, incorporating acoustic guitar and blues undertones.
