Hidden Hands

2010 sophomore album from Australian singer/songwriter Jen Cloher. The album was predominantly written in New Zealand, where Cloher had travelled to be with her Alzheimer's-inflicted mother. Opening track, 'Mother's Desk', sets the tone for Hidden Hands. It finds Cloher holed up in Auckland, grappling with her mother's illness and facing writer's block. The album was recorded upon Cloher's return to Melbourne in late 2008. Recorded over seven days at Woodstock Studios, it was produced by Paul McKercher with guest contributions by multi-instrumentalist Laura Jean. Hidden Hands features Cloher and her band the Endless Sea - Geoff Dunbar (bass), Jen Sholakis (drums), Biddy Connor (viola, saw) and Michael Hubbard (guitar). Metropolitan Groove Merchants.
